META Bridge Materials Grant Program Grant Application Form

META Bridge Material Grants are available to any organization that includes equestrians in its trail use plan or that gains permission for equestrians during its trail permitting process. It is further required that a member of META co-sponsor the grant application. META will assist in locating a co-sponsor if the applicant requests this service. META affiliated organizations do not need a co-sponsor.

Our vision:

The Bridge Materials Grant Program will provide materials produced to our specifications for the construction of long-lasting, horse-safe bridges on Maine's shared trail systems.

Essential to the program will be the cooperation between organized equestrian trail riders and other trail user groups, particularly snowmobile and ATV clubs.

In exchange for the bridge materials grant, we will be asking that these other user groups include seeking landowner permission on behalf of equestrians when meeting with their trail systems' landowners.

All trail users will benefit from using sound bridges and equestrians will benefit from having written permission to use the trails and by developing a good working relationship with other trail users.
